The Dovo Diamant is a 5/8", half round, stiff hollow blade, hand crafted of high carbon steel in Solingen Germany. The razor is available in olive or African white ebony wooden scales and comes with a glossy jet black enameled coating. I measured the width to be 11/16 which is always a nice bonus. Diamant is the German, Dutch and Flemish translation for Diamond.
It features a clean 24k gold etching on the tang and hollow grind. Comes in a blue metal storage box. Scales on some can be loose and floppy as a result. The grind itself is stiffer than most full hollow razors. Once dialed in it can will take a nice shaving edge. Be advised that the spine shows wear as they are factory sharpened and the spine was not protected. In order to keep the black coating from wearing out you should use a layer of electrical tape on the spine when honing the razor. They are excellent razors for beginners or seasoned straight razor users.
Dovo razors come standard with a factory edge but are nowhere near a true professionally honed razor's edge. Having honed thousands of factory send Dovo razors I advise you to either purchase the razor from a reputable store that sells the razor as 'shave ready' or you can order a honing service straight from my web site to have it professionally honed/sharpened especially if you are starting out with your first straight razor shave.
