This razor is being offered for sale from a seller under consignement. It is in my possesion and ready to ship.
For sale is a vintage W. Greaves & Sons in very nice condition from the early 1800's (1826 - 1850). It was manufactured in Sheffield. The scales are blond horn. The razor tends to close sideways but barely touches the side. Razors sits snug thoug. A few tiny black spots, left and right, but considering this razor is at least 170+ years old I would say it's in beautiful condition.
William Greaves was a Straight Razor Manufacturer active by 1780. In 1816 his son joined the company. They started building the first factory in Sheffield 'Sheaf Works' in 1823. The factory was completed and ready in 1826. They sold the firm in 1850 to B.J. Eyre & Company.
