Mappin & Webb - Cutlers - 2 Day Set - Oxford St. London

This razor is being offered for sale from a seller under consignement. It is in my possesion and ready to ship.

For sale is a a very old Mappin & Webb, Royal Cutlery works, Sheffield razors set of 2.

The first Mappin & Webb store opened in 1860 at the prestigious address of 77-78 Oxford Street, London. The Royal Cutlery & Silver Plate works were situated on Norfolk Street, Sheffield. The melting furnaces, rolling mills, hammer shops, steam-stamp shops, grinding wheels and forging hearths ensured that the firm could control the whole manufacturing process.

Considering the history and old age I would say this set is in extraordinary condition. A true collectors dream or for shavers alike. Blemishes, rust or pitting are at a minimum. Some barely noticeable surface stains and residual blemishes. The genuine scales are immaculate and show no sign of any dangerous cracks. They are all considered pre-ban. Both blades still have the original polished finish.`

They are numbered 1 & 2. I don't even think number 1 has ever been used. Number 2 does show it has been honed in the past. But both look just amazing for their age.
