Max Sprecher Razors NOS Dovo∙#55 ∙ 8/8- ∙ Diamond Steel ∙ Germany ∙ For Sale

I am selling this razor from a straightrazor user and collector located in Europe.

This is a vintage NOS Dovo from the Fritz Bracht era. Fritz Bracht took over the Dovo company shortly before the second World War. He significantly raised the quality of Dovo razors. The Dovo razors produced during the Fritz Bracht era are considered the best Dovos ever made in terms of QC, fit and finish. There is no comparison with today's offerings from Dovo. This is a rare collectors piece and you'd be hard pressed to find many or any of those on the secondary market offerings. I surely haven't seen any for sale for years.

Both the Dovo makers mark on the tang and hollow grind Diamond Steel are engraved. The blade has a 3" cutting edge, full hollow. Comes with the original black scales. The scales are very tight and the razor does not completely close within the scales as the tip touches the wedge pin. If you like I can re-scale the razor for you, free of charge, in your choice of any of the transparant acrylics, Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, Aqua Glass, Burned Orange. Tropical Yellow or Opaque Black. If you want any of the shells there will be an upcharge.
