Daishi 350 - Yasuki Steel - Kamisori - Japan

This razor is being offered for sale from a seller under consignement. It is in my possesion and ready to ship. They are highly sought-after Japanese razors.

This is a vintage (1960's) Daishi 350, made from Hitachi Yasugi Steel. This steel forged by Hitachi is their version of Tamahagane steel derived from Japanese iron sand. It is one of the highest quality steels made in Japan due to its very high carbon content and extremely fine grain.

Blade looks in overall splendid condition. Some barely noticeable stains. Scales are straight and blade centers and closes nicely.

6/8 Kamisori style blade (asymetrical grind)

It's the traditional near wedge to 1/4 hollow kamisori grind.

2" cuting edge

Yasugi Steel - made of iron sand.

The razor is sold with the edge it was send to me. However it passes the hanging hair test and easily shaves hair from my forearm.
