Australia produces around 95% of the worlds opals. The town of Coober Pedy in South Australia is a major source of opal. Opal is one of the most beautiful blue gemstone in the world. Like lightning in a rainbow, it flashes its brilliance with even the slightest movement and claims notice by all who witness its phenomenal “fire.” This is a stone so dedicated to the eye, so pleasing to the sight, it inspires love and hope, innocence and purity, luck and happiness. The featured Australian opal ring is made from 18K gold and sterling silver. The polished bezel is made from 18K yellow gold and the backing is made from sterling silver with a subtle oxidized texture on the extending lip. The backside has a satin finish. The silver band is 5.85mm wide and 1.45mm thick. It has a polished finish. The Australian opal doublet measures 15.15mm x 13.30mm which is uniquely large specimen. The total weight of the opal doublet ring is 0.25oz / 7.1 gr.
 
The featured and pictured ring in this listing is a size 6.5 and is ready to ship. However since this is a wide band it can potentially fit a size 6.25 or size 6. Please make sure to have your ring size measured.
 
The natural opal doublet comes from Coober Pedy Australia and is part of a vintage supply. It was mined in the 90's.
 
It's a very classy, elegant and timeless opal ring that's made in a solid silver and gold setting. The opal has a uniform fire pattern with thin snippets and spots of sparkling colors.
