The Kingman turquoise mine, operated by the Colbaugh family in Arizona, is one of the largest domestic turquoise mines in the USA. It is found in a large open pit copper mine in the high desert country. The Kingman Mine district was first mined by Native Americans. Today, even the quality natural turquoise from Kingman has become rare in the wake of rising demand for good quality American turquoise.
Colbaugh Processing who operates the mine and specializes in stabilized turquoise, whereby epoxy is infused into the stone which deepens the color and makes the chalky material suitable for cutting and polishing.
Kirinite is known as the next-generation high grade acrylic. Kirinite is extremely tough if not tougher than Corian™. It's very durable and maintenance free.
