Takefu is a Japanese laminated blade steel
Core layer is Takefu Shiro 2 high carbon steel
Outer layers is suminagashi 22 layers low carbon steel
 
The scales are 100% genuine awabi on a white backing and covered with a durable topcoat of industrial resin making them very sturdy, maintenance free and at the same time protecting the shell.
